Hey,
I was just curious about the bathroom setup for the new dorm. Are they for several rooms or individual?

Thanks
Alice

Weird dorm question

This question may seem weird, or even stupid to some, but I'm curious about the weapon policy at COA. I know it seems weird to ask if I can bring a sword to college, but I've been doing martial arts for years and am wondering what I'm allowed to bring: only wooden, or can I bring a non-sharp metal blade as well? I assure you that I will use extreme care, and my metal blade, being that it has no edge, is only as dangerous as my wooden one.
Also, I have some Nerf guns, and although I would assume that they're ok, since they only shoot foam darts, I just want to double check.

Visits

Hi!

Although I don't think I can visit COA, I did hear from our college guidance counselor about how some colleges will visit when we return for our second year at school. Will COA be visiting the mahindra united world college of india in 2008? I'm asking because I'm wondering if the visit is annual or done once every few years. I really hope COA visits!

Also, (sorry about all the qusetions but..can't help it ;)) I am wondering whether applying early has any effect on financial aid. During the financial aid presentation we had, Mike told us we should check with schools before we apply early because sometimes, international students applying to the U.S early deciscion might be getting less financial aid or might be moved to the regular application pool. The reason being that the college would like to wait until all the applications (early and regular) have come through so they can give citizens first priority, then international students.

Does COA ever move early applications to the regular pool of applications? I'm not really sure how stuff works, but I'm sure I can know a bit more if I ask. I hope my question makes sense. I'm not asking whether COA manages to fulfill everyone's financial aid, but whether or not my decision to apply early is a good idea, as I do require aid and I am not a citizen of the U.S.

Thank you for taking the time to read through all this!

Chitra

Early Decision ?

hi!

I was a bit confused when a friend told me about early decision at COA. He said there are two early decision dates. I thought that maybe he meant to say there was early action and early decision, but he says that there is early decision 1 and early decision 2.

is that true?
and if so, what are the dates?

thanks!

Course requirements for graduation

I'm a little confused on the graduation requirements. I see you need to take 4 courses then 2 in each of the three categories or arts, etc. That's only 10 core classes. Does that mean if I complete all my internship, volunteerism, etc. that I might be able to finish in three years? I'd like to get my masters from COA as well so maybe I could finish in 4 years? My parents would be more willing for a private school if I could do both at once. Thanks!
